Pico Maccario Lavignone Piemonte Rosato 2018 1.5 L

The Pico Maccario winery dominates the largest single-block vineyard in all of Piedmont. Seventy hectares (175 acres) in one single piece make our vineyards a true rarity. There are ten kilometers (over six miles) of internal roads which run though the vine rows, three hundred and fifteen thousand individual vines, 77 thousand pinewood stakes which support the wires which sustain the vines, and 4,500 red rose bushes, all one single clone, at the head of each vine row. The property is located on hillsides in the province of Asti at 180 meters (600 feet) above sea level; the hills are of mixed soil with much clay and are planted to 58 hectares (145 acres) of Barbera, four hectares (10 acres) of Merlot, two hectares (five acres) each of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc; the remaining two hectares are planted to Favorita and Freisa.nn
